Nature & Animals

Nature and Animal Stories

I’m EXCITED to be featured in “Animals Make Us Human” edited by the talented Dr Leah Kaminsky and Meg Keneally for Penguin Books Australia! This book celebrates Australia’s unique wildlife and its vulnerability, told through the eyes of photographers, researchers and writers who reflect upon their connection with nature.
This book is a fundraiser for our wildlife, from land, sea and sky and the proceeds of this book are going to the Australian Marine Conservation Society and the Australian Wildlife Conservancy in the aftermath of the devastating 2019-2020 Australian bushfires.
It was a great privilege to be part of this collaboration for nature and be named alongside some amazing Aussie writers, researchers and nature photographers, including my hubby Dr Rich.
The book is available from the 3rd November 2020 at Animals Make Us Human.

A BIG Love Story!

I was thrilled to be invited as an Aussie marine scientist, artist and author to contribute to this book and to ‘sea’ my story about the BIGGEST shark in the sea! Mine is a BIG love story about a BIG animal who is still a BIG mystery to us.
Whale sharks are one of my most favourite marine animals and my story dives into my up close and personal experiences with these gentle giants of the sea. It is my hope that once you read my story you too will fall in love with whale sharks and want to look after and protect these beautiful BIG animals.

This book is not a picture book but it is suitable for all ages as it celebrates our connection with animals and the importance of living alongside nature. Nature is amazing and healing and we can coexist with it. You can be the change you want to ‘sea’ in the world!
